Originally from the East Coast, Dr. Schlam was drawn to the beauty of the Pacific Northwest to settle with her family and provide exceptional dentistry. Dr. Schlam was born and raised in Upstate New York. She completed her undergraduate studies at Hobart & William Smith Colleges where she had the opportunity to study abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark as well as take coursework ranging from chemistry to sculptural art. She obtained her dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts where she met her husband, Dr. Mark Schlam. Here, they were selected to participate on a mission trip, where they traveled to rural regions of the Dominican Republic and provided dental services to local communities in need.
Dr. Schlam completed her specialty training in prosthodontics and obtained her master’s degree in oral biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her residency she also gained extensive experience in both the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants. Professionally Dr. Schlam is passionate about continuing to understand the physical and emotional impact of dental prostheses on her patients today and in their futures. She enjoys analog and digital treatment modalities and is eager to find new ways to incorporate virtual surgical planning techniques. Dr. Schlam understands how her ability to communicate clearly and frequently with colleagues creates great success in patient care and provides patients with an exceptional experience.
Outside of work, Dr. Schlam spends most of her time adventuring the outdoors with her family through hiking, mountain biking, and water sports. She enjoys sharing her love for nature with her two young children by finding new insects and animals in the exciting ecosystem of the Puget Sound. She also has an artistic side and enjoys abstract painting and sculptural design.
