Meet Dr. William F. Schmidt, DMD, MSD, PS

After 37 years of dedicated service to his patients, Dr. Schmidt is retiring. Dr. Schmidt earned his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry and Bachelor of Science in biology from Southern Illinois University. He also completed a general practice residency. While serving in the United States Public Health Service, he continued his formal education and training in the University of Washington’s graduate program in prosthodontics. This three-year program culminated in a Master of Science in dentistry and a certificate in the specialty of prosthodontics. In 1981, Dr. Schmidt began his private practice.

Dr. Schmidt was repeatedly named by his peers as one of Burien’s “Top Dentists” in Burien Metropolitan Magazine. Surveys were sent to dentists in the Puget Sound area to ask which of their colleagues they would entrust with their loved ones’ dental care. Dr. Schmidt states, “Being recognized by fellow dentists and specialists is an honor that is particularly gratifying!”

Dr. Schmidt and his wife Alicia have three grown sons. The family has enjoyed extraordinary experiences hiking, kayaking, and traveling. In 2005, Dr. Schmidt was able to return to Italy with his father, who served in World War II. Dr. Schmidt feels the experience “was a unique and meaningful one for me, my dad, and my entire family.”
